The podcast world’s biggest event is back this year and it’s returning to the city where it all started. Podcast Movement 2022 takes place August 23–26 in Dallas, TX—home to the first annual event back in 2014—and offers the ultimate experience for creators, professionals, and marketers in the podcast industry.

This year, Right Side Up’s offline team will be represented by Lindsay Piper Shaw, director of offline, who will lead a session on what to do when your ads are running on a show that gets rocked by a scandal.

Keep reading to learn more about what you’ll see from RSU at Podcast Movement 2022. If you want to join us (either in person or virtually—we’ll be there IRL), we’d love to see you! You can get 35% off your Podcast Movement pass with code RSU.

Canceled: Navigating Scandal as an Advertiser and Host

The news cycle moves fast, and controversy moves even quicker. If you buy ads from a podcast and the host is involved in a scandal, you may see your brand’s name all over Twitter and angry emails in your inbox. If a company behaves poorly, a podcast host that features their ads may also feel blowback. How do you protect your company and your podcast in the midst of a fallout? In this session, Lindsay Piper Shaw, RSU’s director of offline, and Thomas Mancusi, EVP global, sales & development at Audioboom, will outline how to approach show selection, preparing your internal team for the unexpected, and what to do when the worst happens, so you don’t lose out on customers or damage the relationship between creators and brands. You don’t want to have to attend this panel, but you should.

This session will take place Thursday 8/25 from 1:15–2pm CDT in the Lone Star A3/A4 space.
We hope you’ll join us for this interesting and relevant session to learn how to make the most of your podcast ads, even when things go awry. You can purchase your Podcast Movement 2022 passes here. And don’t forget to use code RSU during checkout to save 35% on your pass.
