Podcast Movement Evolutions, the future-focused counterpart to the Podcast Movement flagship conference, is happening March 23–26 in Los Angeles (and virtually online). The event is dedicated to the changing landscape of the podcast industry and Right Side Up’s offline team will be there to lead a panel discussion.

Keep reading to see what RSU is cooking up for Podcast Movement Evolutions 2022.

The Problem with Programmatic

As more marketing dollars flood the podcast ad space, the urgency around adapting programmatic technology for buying and placing ad content in the channel has reached a fever pitch. Krystina Rubino, head of the offline and podcast marketing practice at Right Side Up, will share what she learned living through the programmatic rush to the bottom in digital display media, and why she’s wary of seeing the same fate befall the podcast industry. She will explore whether programmatic really benefits advertisers, publishers, and creators, or if we’ll just wind up diluting the magic of the podcast ad for all parties involved. This panel will take place Friday, March 25 from 11–11:30am PST on the Industry Stage.

The New Podcast Attribution Landscape

With the recent acquisition of both Podsights and Chartable, attribution and impression verification is yet again thrust into the spotlight of the podcast conversation. Grant Durando, director of offline practice at Right Side Up, and Peter Birsinger, CEO founder of Podscribe, will explore Spotify’s changing role in the ecosystem, the merits of full stack publishers, and how these changes might impact performance and brand advertising on podcasts. This panel will take place Friday, March 25 from 12–12:30pm PST on the Industry Stage.
